I've guided hundreds of founders through the incorporation process across Hong Kong and Singapore. The questions are always different; the mistakes are usually the same. I write to help people avoid them.
Running a business in Singapore isn’t easy, especially when you’re trying to grow with limited time, funds, and people. The good thing is, you don’t have to do it all on your own. The Singapore Government offers several grants designed to help you improve how your business runs, adopt digital tools, or explore new markets.
In this guide, we’ve put together the main SME grants for 2026. You’ll get a clear idea of what each one covers, who’s eligible, and how they can help your business grow.
Let’s dive in and see which grants could make the biggest difference for you.
Update: The Enterprise Development Grant (EDG), Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) and Market Readiness Assistance (MRA) Grant closed to new applications on 29 September 2026. From 30 September 2026, Enterprise Singapore supports these projects under a single scheme, the EDGE Grant.
1. EDGE Grant
The EDGE Grant replaced EDG, PSG and MRA on 30 September 2026. It co-funds over 150 activities in areas such as automation and digitalisation, business strategy, financial management, innovation, internationalisation, standards and sustainability. Upgrading projects, software adoption and overseas expansion now all run through this one grant.
Grant amount
- Support is a percentage of qualifying costs, set per activity. SMEs get a higher rate than larger companies.
- Total support is capped per company each year, across all activities.
- Check the current rates and cap on the EDGE Grant page before you budget.
Note: EDGE pays on a reimbursement basis. You claim once the activity is complete and fully paid.
Eligibility
- A business entity registered in Singapore
- At least 30% of the company owned by Singapore citizens and/or permanent residents. A company wholly owned by founders abroad does not qualify.
- To count as an SME: group annual sales turnover of no more than SGD 100 million, or group employment of no more than 200 workers
- Other requirements may apply, depending on the activity
How to apply
- Step 1: Find the activity that fits your project on Enterprise Singapore's website or BizSG.
- Step 2: Log in to the Business Grants Portal (BGP) from that activity's page with Corppass. Your own staff must submit, not a vendor or consultant.
- Step 3: Submit one application per activity, with quotations and project details.
- Step 4: Don't start work or pay a supplier, even a deposit, before you submit. Retrospective applications are rejected.
Already applied under EDG, PSG or MRA? Applications submitted before 30 September 2026 are still assessed under the old scheme, and approved projects are supported until the claim is paid. You can't apply under EDGE for the same project.
2. SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC)
As your business grows, it’s just as important to help your team grow with it. The SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) supports this by helping you invest in your team’s growth and your company’s transformation.
It gives eligible employers a one-off SGD 10,000 credit that covers up to 90% of out-of-pocket costs for approved training and transformation programmes. The credit is automatically applied when you join approved programmes, so there’s no separate application needed.
Note: The SFEC expires on 30 November 2026. Employers must submit final claims to the relevant agencies by that date. EDGE activities can't be paid for with SFEC.
Grant amount
- Eligible employers get a credit of SGD 10,000, covering up to 90% of costs for approved training or business development programmes.
Eligibility
- Registered as a business entity in Singapore and operating locally
- Notified as eligible through your Corppass account
* Eligibility was set by qualifying periods that ended in 2021, so newly incorporated companies can’t receive it.
How to apply
There’s no separate application needed. If your business qualifies, the credits will appear automatically in your Corppass account and be applied when you join approved programmes.
