In which language should the company name be registered?

A company name in Singapore must be registered in English, following ACRA’s naming guidelines. Before registering the company, our Company Secretary department can assist in checking the availability and compliance of your chosen name.

Other important rules to follow when deciding the company name are the following:

  • The name must be in the English alphabet.
  • The name must end with “Private Limited” or the abbreviation “Pte. Ltd.”.
  • The name must not resemble government bodies or infringe upon existing trademarks.
  • The name must not include the word “Temasek”.
  • The name must not contain vulgar, obscene, or offensive words.
