20+ years in Asia as a corporate lawyer, investor, and fintech founder. I've sat on both sides of the table and seen the same avoidable mistakes hit founders again and again. The reviews and articles I write are for founders who'd rather skip the mistakes.
Key Takeaways
Which to choose: Osome suits solo founders with light revenue, no planned structural changes, and their own address. Statrys suits founders who want one renewal fee, the audit included, and their business account on the same platform.
Incorporation: Osome's Essential package (HKD 4,650) costs less than Statrys (HKD 7,875) but excludes the registered address, which Statrys includes.
Year-two costs: For a company with under HKD 200,000 revenue, Statrys costs about HKD 17,700/year with the audit included. Osome costs HKD 10,800 without an audit, or about HKD 17,500 with its Scale tier, which includes it, plus HKD 660–880 per structural change.
Business account: Statrys offers its own 11-currency account on the same platform as incorporation and accounting. Osome refers clients to partners such as Aspire and Airwallex, with a separate application and login.
If you're deciding between Statrys and Osome to set up a Hong Kong company, most comparisons stop at the incorporation sticker price. That's the wrong place to stop. What either of us actually costs you shows up in year two, once the first-year bundle rolls off and you're paying for company secretary and accounting on your own, and that's where the two of us price things completely differently.
Statrys provides company registration services in Hong Kong and competes directly with Osome, so every figure below comes from a live check of Osome's pricing pages, our current price list, and both providers' Trustpilot profiles in September 2026. Incorporation Compared
| Service | Statrys | Osome |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing | HKD 7,875 | Essential HKD 4,650 Comprehensive HKD 8,950 |
| Government Fees | Included | Included |
| Registered Address | Included (1 year) | Not included on Essential (HKD 3,000/year add-on); included on Comprehensive |
| Company Secretary | Included (1 year) | Included (1 year) |
| Business Account | Native multi-currency account on the same platform | Introduction to partner fintechs (Aspire, Airwallex, TranSwap, and others). A bundled offer cuts incorporation to HKD 7,950, plus up to HKD 4,000 Aspire cashback, if you open and fund a new Aspire account. |
A registered address is legally required to incorporate in Hong Kong. Statrys includes it in its package, but Osome only bundles it on Comprehensive, so factor in the HKD 3,000/year add-on before comparing Essential's headline price directly against Statrys.
Osome also offers a "Comprehensive + Aspire account" bundle: incorporation at HKD 7,950 plus up to HKD 4,000 Aspire cashback. To qualify, you must be new to both providers, open an Aspire account via Osome's referral code and deposit at least HKD 8,000 within 30 days. The HKD 3,950 net price Osome advertises depends on meeting those conditions.
Accounting Compared
| Model | Statrys | Osome |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing Model | Pay-per-transaction, scales with monthly volume | Fixed annual fee by tier (Operate/Grow/Scale), based on annual revenue band or total transaction number |
| Entry Price | From HKD 891.67/month (0–2 transactions/month) | Operate from HKD 292/month (HKD 3,500/year) at the lowest revenue band (under HKD 200,000/year) |
| Mid Tier | Scales with transaction volume, up to 300 transactions/month | Grow from HKD 4,200/year at the lowest revenue band |
| Above That | Custom pricing above 300 transactions/month | Scale (includes audit and tax filing) from HKD 10,188/year. At the top band (HKD 3M–5M revenue): Operate HKD 22,000, Grow HKD 26,400, Scale HKD 47,388/year. |
Which model actually costs you less depends on your revenue and transaction volume, and on what's included. A low-revenue company with few transactions will usually pay less on Osome's Operate tier than on our per-transaction pricing, but Operate covers bookkeeping only: Osome's audit is quoted separately, and only its Scale tier includes audit and profits tax filing, while ours includes both.
Here's a case where Statrys may cost less: say your company earns HKD 4,000,000/year from just 2 large transactions a month. On Statrys, that keeps you at our lowest tier, about HKD 10,700/year including the audit and tax filing. Osome bases its fees on either annual revenue or total transaction number and doesn't publish which applies. If it bills you by revenue, you'd land in its highest published band, where even the bookkeeping-only Operate tier costs HKD 22,000/year before any audit, and Scale, which includes it, costs HKD 47,388/year. If your revenue is high but your transaction count is low, ask Osome which basis it will use before assuming it's cheaper.
On Top of That: A Native Business Account
This is where the two of us stop looking alike. Osome doesn't offer a business account of its own in Hong Kong. Every account it offers is opened with a separate company under that company's own rules, not Osome's. We hold our own Money Service Operator licence, so the account, the cards, and the payments all run on the same platform as your incorporation and your books.
| Feature | Statrys | Osome |
|---|---|---|
| Account Type | Native multi-currency account, built and run by Statrys under our own Money Service Operator licence | Referral to a third-party partner (such as Aspire, Airwallex, TranSwap, or Wise), a separate company Osome does not own or license |
| Approval | One application with Statrys, subject to our KYC (identity verification) and eligibility requirements | Subject to the partner’s own KYC and approval, entirely outside Osome’s control |
| Currencies Held | 11 currencies natively in one account: HKD, AUD, CAD, CHF, RMB, EUR, GBP, JPY, NZD, SGD, USD. Send payments in 18 currencies, adding THB, VND, INR, IDR, PHP, TRY, and KRW | Aspire’s own account holds 13 currencies (including HKD, USD, SGD, GBP, and EUR), receives locally in 6 markets, and pays out via SWIFT to 100+ countries |
| Payment Reach | Send and receive across 120+ countries via SWIFT, plus local-currency payouts to 15 countries and local currency accounts with IBAN-style details in the UK, Germany, Luxembourg, Australia, Denmark, and Liechtenstein | Depends entirely on the partner’s own network, not published by Osome itself |
| Cards | Physical and virtual Mastercard® payment cards, which you can freeze at any time | Card, if any, issued and controlled by the partner, not Osome |
| Login | Same platform as incorporation and accounting | Separate login from your Osome dashboard, on the partner’s own app |
Osome is upfront that Aspire is a partner, not part of Osome, and that's exactly the point. Open a company with Osome and you still need a second application, a second KYC check, and a second login, for an account that runs under a different company's rules, separate from your incorporation and books. If Aspire declines or delays that application, you'll need to resolve it with Aspire directly, a company you didn't originally sign up with. If your only outstanding need really is a company and its filings, this won't change your decision. But if you also want an account that holds 11 currencies, reaches 120+ countries, comes with its own Mastercard® payment cards, and runs on the same login as your incorporation and books from day one, this is where Statrys offers more.
What You'll Actually Pay in Year 2 and Beyond
Incorporation is a one-time cost. After that, your annual costs are company secretary services, your Business Registration renewal, a registered address, and accounting (including the audit).
| Annual Cost | Statrys | Osome |
|---|---|---|
| Company Secretary and Annual Return Filing | HKD 3,416 | HKD 1,400 (Essential, with an Osome accounting plan), plus HKD 660–880 per director, shareholder, or share change. Unlimited (HKD 3,600) covers changes instead. |
| Business Registration (BR) Renewal | HKD 2,350 | HKD 2,900 |
| Registered Address | HKD 1,200 | HKD 3,000 |
| Secretarial Subtotal | HKD 6,966 | HKD 7,300 |
| Accounting (Under HKD 200,000 Revenue) | HKD 10,700, audit included | Operate HKD 3,500 (no audit) or Scale HKD 10,188 (audit included) |
| Total Per Year | HKD 17,666 | HKD 10,800 with Operate, or HKD 17,488 with Scale |
In the simplest case (one shareholder, no structural changes, revenue under HKD 200,000/year), Osome's Essential secretary, BR renewal, and Operate accounting come to about HKD 7,800/year, or HKD 10,800 with its registered address. Statrys comes to about HKD 17,700. But Operate excludes the audit every Hong Kong company needs, and with Osome's Scale tier, which includes it, the like-for-like total is about HKD 17,500, roughly level.
Beyond that, costs depend on your company. Osome's Essential tier bills per event for adding a shareholder, appointing a director or transferring shares, and its accounting fees rise with revenue band or transaction number, up to HKD 47,388/year for Scale at the top published revenue band. Statrys prices accounting by transaction count, not revenue. If you expect structural changes, or your revenue and transaction count don't move together, get quotes from both.

Registration Process Comparison
| Feature | Statrys | Osome |
|---|---|---|
| Remote Process | Yes | Yes |
| Approval Time | Within 5 business days | Typically 3–4 business days once documents are ready (Osome’s pages variously say “less than three” and “3–4” business days) |
Both of us offer a remote-friendly registration process with comparable approval times, so this alone shouldn't decide it for you. Ask Osome directly about its timeline if yours is tight, since its published figures aren't consistent.
Customer Support Comparison
| Detail | Statrys | Osome |
|---|---|---|
| Channels | Phone, chat, email, WhatsApp | Phone, email, WhatsApp, in-app chat |
| Contact Number | +852 5803 2818 | +852 2632 9288 |
Support channels and coverage are close enough between the two of us that this shouldn't be your deciding factor either way.
User Reviews and Ratings
Both scores come from each company's global Trustpilot profile, not a Hong Kong-specific one. Osome's in particular is a merged profile spanning several prior listings. According to Trustpilot's own review summaries, Statrys reviewers most often praise the fast account setup, responsive support, international transfers, and the human touch of onboarding calls. Osome reviewers praise its polite, knowledgeable support team and intuitive platform, but some also report slow response times, communication gaps, missed deadlines, and difficulty resolving problems through chat.
Conclusion
Both are workable options for incorporating in Hong Kong. I'd point founders who want everything in one fee towards Statrys: one renewal that already includes your registered address and BR renewal, and accounting (audit and tax filing included) priced by what you actually process. I'd point solo founders with a simple setup, light revenue, and their own address towards Osome, if its bookkeeping-only Operate tier and pay-per-event secretarial fees suit them, keeping in mind that its audit is quoted separately. Check what your company will actually look like in year two, not just at incorporation, before trusting either of our headline prices.
If there's one place to weigh most heavily, it's the account. Incorporation is a one-time decision and accounting has genuine trade-offs either way, but the account is daily infrastructure, and it's the one area where Osome has no product of its own to offer you, only a referral.
FAQs
Which is better: Osome or Statrys?
It depends on how your company will run. Statrys is the better fit if you want one renewal fee that already includes your registered address and BR renewal, plus transaction-based accounting with the audit and tax filing included. What's the difference between Osome and Statrys?
Statrys offers incorporation, an in-house multi-currency business account, and transaction-based accounting on one platform, with one annual secretarial renewal fee that includes your registered address and BR renewal. Osome prices its company secretary, BR renewal, registered address, and accounting separately. Its cheaper Essential tier also charges per event for structural changes.
How much is it to incorporate a company with Osome?
Osome's Hong Kong tiers are Essential at HKD 4,650 and Comprehensive at HKD 8,950. Statrys' package is HKD 7,875, including registered address, company secretary, and a business account application.
