How we did this - We went through Sleek's full Hong Kong company registration online application in May 2026, selecting the "Compliance" plan. All Sleek prices in this review are from their published pricing pages and the fees disclosed during the onboarding flow. This article is a companion to our Sleek Standard plan review.
Sleek's Compliance plan is currently advertised at HKD 10,473. We went through the full Hong Kong company registration online to find out what that figure actually buys — and where the headline price stops being the price you pay.
The short version: HKD 10,473 only covers the simplest possible setup — one shareholder, monthly expenses under HKD 15,000, and an accounting tier that doesn't include audit. Audit is legally required for almost every Hong Kong company, and it isn't part of the Compliance plan at any tier. Most founders only discover that after they've signed up.
The 30-second version
Advertised from HKD 10,473. This figure assumes the simplest setup. The real total grows quickly:
- More than one shareholder? Add at least HKD 600.
- Monthly expenses above HKD 15,000? Add roughly HKD 4,660.
- Need payroll, audited financials, or any monthly bookkeeping? Add at least HKD 2,300, sometimes much more.
- Audit? Not in any Compliance tier. Audit is mandatory in Hong Kong. Budget HKD 8,000–20,000+ per year on top.
Sleek runs three accounting tiers, with prices scaling across five expense bands. Payroll services start at the second tier — so a company that only needs payroll often ends up paying for management reports it doesn't use. Audit isn't available as an add-on at any price; the only way to get it through Sleek is to upgrade to the Full Compliance plan (from HKD 15,973).
By comparison, Statrys uses transaction-based pricing, includes audited financial statements at every tier, and bundles the business account onboarding into the same flow. We'll get to the head-to-head later.
How Sleek presents the Compliance plan
The Compliance plan uses the same incorporation base as Sleek's Standard plan — Certificate of Incorporation, Business Registration, Registered Address & Mailroom, Company Secretary, and the service fee — and adds an accounting service on top. The accounting service has three internal tiers, and the price scales with your monthly expenses.
On Sleek's pricing page, the Compliance plan shows a single figure: HKD 10,473. There's no mention of the accounting tiers, the expense bands, or how the price changes with company size. That information appears once you start the onboarding flow, not before.
The default tier baked into that headline number is Tier 1 (Annual Filing & Bookkeeping): SleekBooks software, annual bookkeeping, annual management reports, and unaudited financial statements. The two higher tiers — and the expense-band pricing model — only surface after you've started signing up.
First learning - What's hidden inside the signup flow
After completing the Company Secretary and shareholder steps, a new screen appears: accounting plan selection. Three tiers, each with significantly different features, all priced by your expense band.
The tiers are named Annual Filing & Bookkeeping (Basic), Accounting & Payroll (Standard), and Accounting Premium. They differ on bookkeeping frequency, payroll, support speed, and Xero access. Audit isn't in any of them.
Feature comparison by tier
| Feature | Basic | Standard | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bookkeeping frequency | Annual | Monthly | Monthly |
| Unaudited Financial Statements | Annual | Annual | Annual |
| Management reports | Annual | Annual | Annual |
| Payroll management | ✗ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Leave management | ✗ | ✗ | ✓ |
| Quarterly senior accountant review | ✗ | ✗ | Quarterly |
| Basic tax advice | ✗ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Offshore tax filing | ✗ | ✗ | ✗ |
| Xero subscription | +HKD 5,280/fy | +HKD 5,280/fy | Included |
| Support response time | 5 days | 48 hours | 24 hours |
| Audit & Tax Filing | Separate Fee | Separate Fee | Separate Fee |
If you plan to pay yourself a salary as a director, Basic isn't enough — payroll (including your own) requires Standard at minimum. Leave management and the quarterly senior-accountant review are Premium-only.
Second learning - How monthly expenses change the price
The prices shown during accounting tier selection aren't fixed. Once you choose a tier, the final price is determined by your company's estimated monthly expenses across five bands — similar to how the number of shareholders scales the Company Secretary fee.
Pricing matrix by monthly expense band
| Monthly expenses | Basic | Standard | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under HKD 15,000 | HKD 3,500 | HKD 5,880 | HKD15,120 |
| HKD15,000 – 50,000 | HKD 8,160 | HKD 10,080 | HKD 22,200 |
| HKD 50,000 – 100,000 | HKD 11,760 | HKD 14,400 | HKD 30,000 |
| HKD 100,000 – 200,000 | HKD 21,600 | HKD 26,000 | HKD 46,800 |
| HKD 200,000 – 400,000 | HKD 32,400 | HKD 40,800 | HKD 72,000 |
* Companies with monthly expenses above HKD 400,000 require a custom quote from Sleek directly.
The “from HKD 10,473” is rarely what you’ll pay: That figure requires monthly expenses under HKD15,000. Salary counts as an expense. Paying yourself HKD 15,660/month (approx. USD 2,000 at the HKD/USD linked exchange rate) already pushes you into the second band before any other costs. Most companies with any operating activity land in band 2 or higher from day one.
Third learning - More shareholders, more company secretary fees
The HKD 10,473 advertised price is built on the Standard Company Secretary tier with one shareholder.
Sleek's pricing page shows the headline fee with no indication that there are two Company Secretary tiers. Only inside the signup flow does it become clear that Standard and Premium Company Secretary are separate options — and that the advertised HKD 10,473 is built on Standard. If you need Premium, your cost increases by at least HKD 2,500 even for a single-shareholder company.
Shareholder count adds another layer. Both tiers scale across seven bands, so on Standard a second shareholder takes the annual fee from HKD 1,300 to HKD 1,900 — a HKD 600 increase that pushes the base cost to at least HKD 11,374.
Company Secretary pricing by shareholder count
The prices shown are at full price
| Shareholders | Standard (per year) | Premium (per year) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | HKD 1,300 | HKD 3,800 |
| 2 | HKD 1,900 | HKD 4,400 |
| 3–5 | HKD 2,300 | HKD 4,800 |
| 6–9 | HKD 2,900 | HKD 5,400 |
| 10–20 | HKD 4,000 | HKD 6,500 |
| 21–30 | HKD 5,300 | HKD 7,800 |
| 30+ | HKD 6,500 | HKD 9,000 |
For a company with two shareholders, the Standard fee rises to HKD 1,900 per year, representing an increase of HKD 600 over the one-shareholder base. This means your base cost would increase to at least HKD 11,374, assuming you only use Sleek Basic Accounting.
Fourth learning - Audit and Tax Filing are excluded, and it’s compulsory
All three accounting tiers in the Compliance plan provide only Unaudited Financial Statements (UFS). Audit isn't included in any of them, and isn't available as an add-on at any price. The only way to get an audit through Sleek is to upgrade to the Full Compliance plan (from HKD 15,973), where audit and tax filing are bundled.
Nowhere in the Compliance plan onboarding is there a warning that an audit is a legal requirement in Hong Kong. You aren't told that this is something you still need to arrange separately.
The audit cost Sleek doesn’t show you
Buying the Compliance plan means you still need to hire and pay a separate auditor and tax . Small-company audits in Hong Kong typically range from HKD 8,000 to HKD 20,000+ per year, depending on turnover and complexity (based on market rates from Peak Corporate and Bestar HK). This cost is entirely absent from Sleek’s Compliance plan pricing.
The only way to avoid this separate cost within Sleek’s offering is to upgrade to the Full Compliance plan.
Consequences of skipping the audit - Audit reports are required for all Hong Kong companies, except those that are officially dormant. Failing to submit audited financial statements is not a grey area.
Directors can be held personally liable. Penalties under the Companies Ordinance scale with how late the filings are, and persistent non-compliance can lead to strike-off proceedings.
Statrys includes audited financial statements as part of its standard accounting service at all tiers. Audit is not a separate line item, not an upgrade, and not an add-on. Every client, from Tier 0 upward, receives audited accounts as part of the base service.
Statrys vs. Sleek on accounting
Sleek charges an annual fee based on your expense volume. Statrys charges a monthly fee based on your transaction count. Sleek gates features by tier — higher tiers unlock payroll, more frequent bookkeeping, and faster support. Statrys gives every tier the same feature set; tiers vary on price only.
I've split the comparison into two tables to keep them readable.
Feature-by-feature comparison
| Feature | Sleek Basic | Sleek Standard | Sleek Premium | Statrys (all tiers) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bookkeeping | Annual | Monthly | Weekly | Annual |
| Annual financial statements | Unaudited | Unaudited | Unaudited | Audited & unaudited |
| Management reports | Annual | Monthly | Weekly | Annual / on request |
| Profits Tax Return | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Offshore tax filing | ✗ | ✗ | ✗ | Add-on: HKD 2,000 |

Statrys has eight transaction-based tiers (T0–T7), ranging from 0–2 transactions/month up to 41–65/month, with a custom quote above that. All tiers include the same service: tax filing, accounting support, and audited financial statements. Pricing follows a pay-per-use model, meaning monthly fees vary based on actual transaction volume and usage.
Two notes before you run the numbers: The Statrys 3-month advance payment isn’t a deposit — it covers your first three months of service. From month 4 onward, you’re billed monthly based on actual transaction count, and the fee adjusts if your volume crosses tier boundaries.
Sleek prices on expense volume; Statrys prices on transaction count. They’re different variables.

Three things the Sleek Compliance plan doesn't bundle
Audit services
The Compliance plan does not include audit services. Companies that need audit support must upgrade to Full Compliance (from HKD 15,973) or arrange and pay a separate auditor. Audit is included in Statrys' accounting plan at every tier, helping companies handle annual compliance in one bundled service.
In-House Business account
The Compliance plan does not include an in-house business account. You'll need to open one separately with a bank or other licensed provider — and traditional Hong Kong banks reject foreign-founder companies more often than most guides admit.
Statrys offers a multi-currency business account in-house through its Company Creation plan, with onboarding integrated into the same flow as company setup and accounting (subject to approval).
Xero
Sleek’s Basic and Standard plans list Xero as an add-on at HKD 5,280/financial year; Premium includes it. Statrys offers Xero accounting software integrated with the Statrys business account. Xero is excluded from the cost comparison and the calculator in this article because pricing varies by plan and usage.
What to ask before you choose
- How many shareholders does my company have? The 10,473 price covers one shareholder. Each additional shareholder moves you up a fee band — two shareholders already adds HKD 600/yr on the Standard tier. Statrys charges a flat HKD 8,600 for incorporation, covering up to 5 shareholders at no extra cost.
- Will I need offshore tax filing? Not specified whether it is included in any Sleek accounting tier. Statrys: HKD 2,000 add-on.
- Will I pay myself or anyone else a salary on day one? If yes, Sleek Basic accounting plan is ruled out — need Standard or Premium for payroll. Salary also counts toward your monthly expense band.
- What are my realistic monthly expenses? The expense band you select drives a large share of your annual accounting cost, and salary is part of it.
- Have I budgeted separately for the audit? Audit is mandatory in Hong Kong but not included in any Compliance tier. Add HKD 8,000–20,000+ per year to the Sleek number, or use a provider that bundles audit.
- Am I comparing Sleek’s expense volume with Statrys’ transaction count? These are different metrics — use consistent inputs when comparing annual costs.

Fee figures in this article are based on Sleek’s publicly listed prices and the fees disclosed during its application process, as observed in May 2026. Prices may have changed since publication. Xero is excluded from all pricing comparisons and the calculator: Xero pricing depends on plan and usage variables for both Sleek and Statrys, so a like-for-like comparison is not possible.
