Who Can Open a Statrys Business Account?

Not every business is eligible to open a Statrys account, but many are.

This section will cover the jurisdictions we support, the types of companies we accept, and the industries we can work with.

Supported Jurisdictions

Statrys currently supports companies incorporated in Hong Kong and Singapore. If your company is registered in one of these jurisdictions, you're eligible to apply for a business account.

If your company is incorporated elsewhere, you may still be eligible depending on your business activities and ties to Hong Kong. For example, we can accept companies engaged in industries such as international logistics, mobile phone trading, or IT and telecom services, provided they maintain some business link to Hong Kong.

Statrys also does not support applications from certain high-risk or sanctioned jurisdictions. You can view the full list of restricted countries to learn more.

Accepted Legal Entities and Business Industries

Statrys accepts applications from a wide range of legal entities and business sectors. Most standard company structures are eligible, including:

• Sole proprietorships or sole traders
• Limited liability companies (LLCs)
• Public limited companies (PLCs)
• Limited liability partnerships (LLPs)
• Registered trusts, charities, and foundations

Statrys works with a wide range of businesses, from startups and e-commerce businesses to established companies in professional services, trading, logistics, and more.

However, we are unable to onboard businesses involved in certain high-risk or restricted sectors. These include activities related to cryptocurrencies, gambling, and others. You can view the full list on our prohibited industries page.

Documents Required to Open a Statrys Business Account

To keep your application process smooth and efficient, it’s a good idea to have your documents ready before you begin.

Most applicants only need to upload two things:

• Proof of identity for all directors and beneficial owners
• Your company’s Certificate of Incorporation, or an equivalent document proving the registration of your business

That's it for most businesses. In some cases, we may ask for a few extra documents depending on your business activities or structure, but don't worry, as we'll let you know exactly what's needed if anything additional comes up.

How to Open Your Statrys Account in 8 Steps

Opening a Statrys business account is a fully online process designed to be as smooth and straightforward as possible. Once you have your documents ready, the application typically takes no more than 10 minutes to complete.

Here’s what the process looks like, step by step.

Step 1: Start Your Application

To begin, visit our Get Started page.

Since you’re here to open a business account, simply select “Open a Business Account” to move forward.

Step 2: Tell Us About You and Your Business

Once you select "Open a Business Account," you'll be asked to complete a short form about your business and what you're looking for. This helps us understand your needs before you get into the full application.

If you're a first-time applicant, this form appears automatically as soon as you make your selection.

If you already have a Statrys account, you'll log in first, and then complete this same form before moving on to the business account application.

Step 3: Create Your User Profile

Next, you'll create your user profile by entering your name, nationality, and email address. We'll send a verification link to that email, which you'll need to confirm before continuing.

Once verified, you're ready to move on to your business account application.

Step 4: Fill Out Your Company and Personal Details

In this step, you’ll enter the key details we need to understand your business and its operations. This includes both company and personal information, along with a few supporting documents.

Here are some of the details you’ll be asked to provide:

• Jurisdiction where your company is incorporated
• Description of your business activities
• Information on directors and ultimate beneficial owners
• Countries your business will send payments to and receive funds from
• A colour scan of your passport or government-issued ID
• Your company’s Certificate of Incorporation (or equivalent proof of registration)

Step 5: Complete ID Verification

Towards the end of the application, you will be asked to complete the identity verification process with our trusted partner, Onfido.

You’ll then be guided through a quick process that involves taking a photo of your government-issued ID or passport, followed by a selfie to confirm your identity.

Step 6: Upload Additional Documents

You will also be asked to provide documents to prove your country of residence and add more stakeholders such as directors to your company.

Step 7: Review and Confirm Your Information

Once you have entered all the information, you can review your full application before submission. This is your chance to double-check everything.

Any errors or missing details can lead to delays or even rejection, so we recommend taking a moment here to ensure accuracy.

Step 8: Wait for Review and Follow-Up

Once your ID verification is complete, your application will be reviewed by our dedicated onboarding team. You can expect to hear from us within 24 to 48 hours, usually by email, to confirm the next steps.
