We understand that being charged an inactivity fee isn’t something you’d look forward to, but let’s explain why it’s necessary.
Why the Inactivity Fee of HKD88?
The inactivity fee of HKD88 (around USD11) may seem like a small charge, but it’s one that ensures a more efficient service for everyone. So why do we apply this fee?
Our fight against ghost clients
“Ghost clients” are clients who open an account but never use it.
Think of some people spending the whole afternoon in a coffee place and ordering only 1 Café Latte. Some clients don’t even order anything but they require from us the same attention.
Time and money that we cannot invest in serving you.
This issue can only grow as we grow, so we decided to fight it by charging an inactivity fee. In practice, it keeps ghost clients away. And we can invest it in you.
Our commitment to you
We believe the small inactivity fee has minimal impact on your business, especially when compared to the great value you receive with our competitive payment and exchange rates.
We’re committed to providing you with exceptional support—real people, responsive to your needs, with the level of detail and care you deserve.
And if you happen to visit our office, we’d be happy to offer you a coffee of your choice!
Feel free to proceed with your transfer, and we’re here if you need any assistance.
FAQs
When do we charge the inactivity fee?
The inactivity fee will be automatically applied on the first day of each month, based on the previous month’s activity. If the balance is insufficient on that day, a retry will occur until the charge is successful.
How do we charge the inactivity fee?
An inactivity fee is charged against the HKD balance of the business account. However, in case this balance is insufficient, it is charged against any other currency that has a balance. For example, if your business account does not have any HKD balance, but a USD balance only, then the inactivity fee is charged in USD. Conversion of the inactivity fee HKD amount to another currency is based on the mid-market rate.
