Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security technology that requires multiple methods of authentication from independent categories of credentials to verify a user's identity for a login or other transaction. This means that when logging into your Statrys account, besides your user and password, you will be asked to confirm your identity via either:
- an SMS sent to a mobile phone number of your choice
- or tapping "Confirm" on your Statrys Mobile app
Here we've prepared this step-by-step guide explaining how it works.
MFA Step by step with Statrys
1 - Login
After entering your login and password, if you haven't paired your phone number with your account via the Statrys Mobile App yet, an information screen about MFA will appear with a QR code to download the mobile app (A).
Scan the QR code and download the App on your phone.
Be sure to turn on notifications when you install and set up your Statrys Mobile App on your phone or you won't be able to receive the Login Confirmation notification.
If you can't go through the process of downloading the mobile app at this point, an option to (B) 'skip for now' is also available and will be in place during a grace period to ensure that no user has any issues logging in.
2 - MFA through the Statrys Mobile App
When your phone is paired with your account through the Statrys Mobile App, a screen will appear requesting you to confirm your login on your phone. It's time to check on your phone, a notification will appear as shown in the image below (A2).
Tap on it and the Statrys Mobile App will open with a screen asking you to confirm the login.
If everything is correct, select 'Confirm login' on the screen, and voilà.
The desktop browser will automatically log you in.
