Hong Kong, 11 August 2026
Statrys, the Hong Kong-based fintech company serving SMEs across Asia, today announced that Hong Kong business account holders can open a local Australian account. The account comes with a BSB and account number, letting clients send and receive AUD payments through Australia's domestic payment rails rather than relying solely on international wires.
The move follows Statrys' rollout of local accounts in the UK, Germany, Luxembourg, Denmark, and Liechtenstein, and extends the same model to a key market for many of its Asia-based clients.
With a local Australian account, businesses can invoice Australian customers, pay local suppliers using account details their counterparties already recognise.
To an Australian customer or supplier, the payment is domestic, sent and received exactly as they'd expect from a local business. And for Statrys clients, it means real choice: send by SWIFT when that's the better fit, or use the local Australian account when speed and cost matter more.
The Australian local account is available now to eligible Statrys clients with a Hong Kong business account.
Getting Started
- Open the account. Log in to your Statrys Hong Kong business account, click "open additional account," and select Australia.
- Receive your details. Once approved, you'll get a BSB and account number to add to invoices and payment instructions.
- Start paying and getting paid locally. Clients pay you by domestic bank transfer; you pay suppliers the same way.
