1. A current licence. Any business providing company secretary services in Hong Kong needs a Trust or Company Service Provider (TCSP) licence. We searched every candidate on the Companies Registry’s register of licensees.
2. A real service for founders like you. The firm must offer an ongoing company secretary service to private SMEs, including owners based outside Hong Kong. Firms focused on listed companies or large groups were excluded.
3. Enough published detail to compare fairly. Scope, pricing, or both must be visible on the firm’s own website.

We then ordered the eight that passed by fit for a foreign founder running a company remotely, using four signals: visibility in search and AI answers, Trustpilot rating weighted by number of reviews, how much of the real annual cost is published, and remote capability (online access, e-signatures, and response times).

Air Corporate (TCSP licence TC008778) publishes an all-inclusive company secretary package at USD 955 a year. It covers a registered address, the company secretary, a Designated Representative, the Business Registration Certificate, statutory registers, AGM resolutions, and Annual Return filing, with automated deadline reminders.

It’s built for owners outside Hong Kong: a 24/7 online dashboard, electronic signatures, mail scanning, and a two-hour WhatsApp response commitment on its pricing page. It is rated 4.9 on Trustpilot from 142 reviews. That combination makes it the closest like-for-like comparison to a bundled provider on price.

Its pricing page states an all-in yearly renewal fee of USD 955, the same as the first year.

3. Sleek: Best for Single-Shareholder Companies on a Fixed Budget

Sleek (TCSP licence TC006483) publishes a Standard plan from HKD 1,300 a year for a company with one shareholder. The price rises with your shareholder count: a company with three to five shareholders pays HKD 2,300 for the same plan. That matters if you plan to bring in co-founders or investors.

Corporate changes such as director appointments, share allotments, and share transfers sit in the Premium plan, from HKD 3,800 for one shareholder. 4. Osome: Best for Companies That Expect Frequent Changes

Osome (TCSP licence TC006825) has two plans. Essential costs HKD 1,400 a year when you also buy an Osome accounting plan. Unlimited costs HKD 3,600 a year, can be bought on its own, and covers unlimited corporate actions such as director and shareholder changes, allotments, and transfers, within what Osome calls normal limits.

Both plans include the HKD 105 Annual Return government fee. The registered address (HKD 3,000 a year) and Business Registration Certificate handling (HKD 2,900 a year, including the HKD 2,350 government fee) are extra. Do the full sum: a standalone Unlimited plan with an address and BRC comes to HKD 9,500 a year.

On Essential, each change is priced: HKD 660 per director or shareholder change, and HKD 880 per share allotment or transfer. Osome is rated 3.4 on Trustpilot from 667 reviews, on a profile that covers all its markets.

5. Triple Eight (HKWJ Group): Best for Cross-Border Structures

Triple Eight Limited (TCSP licence TC002775) is the licensed corporate services company within HKWJ Group, whose sister firm HKWJ Tax Law & Partners handles tax, legal, and accounting work. Its Annual Compliance Package starts from USD 1,075 a year and includes the company secretary, a registered address with digital mail scanning, a Designated Representative, Annual Return filing, and BRC renewal, with the government fees included.

When a share transfer raises a stamp duty question or a restructuring raises a tax one, it stays inside one group rather than going to a new firm. For existing companies, Triple Eight advertises a guaranteed 25% reduction on your current annual fees if you switch, subject to its terms.

Acclime’s Hong Kong entities are licensed TCSPs (including Acclime Secretaries Limited, TC009500), and the group operates in 18 markets across Asia-Pacific and beyond. Accolade Group (TCSP licence TC000447) is a Hong Kong firm with additional offices in Beijing and Singapore. Its Basic Plan service fee is HKD 1,200 a year for acting as your company secretary and filing your Annual Return. Higher tiers bundle a set number of corporate changes, and every plan excludes government fees.

8. FastLane Group: Best for Visas, Payroll, and Audit From One Firm

FastLane Group (TCSP licence TC007714, held by FastLane Consulting Limited) offers a Basic company secretary plan from HKD 3,550 a year, with a dedicated company secretary, a Designated Representative, statutory records, Annual Return filing, and a response within 24 hours. A registered address is a separate service from HKD 3,550 a year and includes Business Registration renewal.

Its wider services include accounting, audit, payroll and MPF, and employment and Top Talent visa applications. Ad-hoc changes are published: HKD 1,800 to add or remove a director, and HKD 1,800 for a company name change plus the HKD 295 government fee.

How to Choose a Company Secretary in Hong Kong

1. Confirm the Legal Basics and the Licence

Every Hong Kong company must have a company secretary under section 474 of the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622). The Companies Registry’s guidance on directors and company secretaries sets two rules that matter most to foreign founders. An individual secretary must ordinarily reside in Hong Kong (a corporate secretary needs a registered office or place of business there). And a sole director can’t also act as company secretary.

Any firm providing company secretary services as a business needs a TCSP licence under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (Cap. 615). Search the provider’s name or licence number on the TCSP licensee register before signing. If your structure has directors or shareholders in several countries, confirm the details with the Companies Registry or a Hong Kong solicitor.

2. Add Government Fees to the Headline Price

Two government fees apply every year, whichever provider you choose:

Then check what each headline price leaves out. Accolade’s HKD 1,200 Basic Plan becomes at least HKD 3,655 once you add a one-year BRC and an on-time Annual Return, before any registered address. Osome’s Unlimited plan becomes HKD 9,500 with its address and BRC add-ons. Air Corporate, Triple Eight, and Statrys already include both government fees and an address in their published price.

3. Check Remote and Digital Capability

If you manage your company from outside Hong Kong, confirm that documents can be signed electronically, that deadline reminders are proactive, and that the provider relays government correspondence quickly. Ask whether you get a dashboard or a shared email folder. Air Corporate, Acclime, Osome, Sleek, and Statrys all describe online access to your records; the traditional firms on this list rely more on email.

4. Understand the Switching Process

When you change secretary, your company delivers Form ND2A, the notice of change of company secretary and director, to the Companies Registry within 15 days of the appointment or cessation. Your outgoing secretary should also hand over your statutory registers and records.

Ask whether the new provider prepares the ND2A and coordinates the handover, and whether it charges for either. Statrys does both with no switching fee, and Air Corporate says it charges nothing until your next company anniversary.

5. Test Support Before You Sign

How quickly a provider responds during your initial enquiry is usually a reliable indicator of how it communicates once you’re a client. If it takes days to answer a straightforward question before you’ve signed, that pattern tends to continue after.
