Final Verdict

Built for high-volume international transfers, like paying overseas contractors or global suppliers, but not for everyday spending like card payments.

3S Money is built for businesses that regularly send international payments, like paying overseas teams, global suppliers, or managing cross-border payroll. It supports over 65 currencies, offers local IBANs in key jurisdictions, and handles SWIFT and SEPA payments efficiently. There’s also a dedicated plan for companies operating in Dubai through DIFC, with local AED accounts and support tailored to the UAE market.

The platform makes it easy to manage high-volume payouts with batch payment tools, Xero integration, and multi-user access with role-based permissions, which is useful for finance teams working across locations.

However, it’s less suited for managing day-to-day expenses, as it doesn’t issue physical or virtual cards. Fees can also add up, especially for SWIFT transfers or payments outside low-cost zones. So while 3S Money works well for supplier payments, contractor payouts, or holding funds in multiple currencies, it’s not ideal if you want all your financial operations in one place. You’ll likely need a second solution for operational banking needs.

Key Highlights

  • Hold and manage 65+ currencies under one account
  • Send payments to 190+ countries via SWIFT, SEPA, and FPS
  • Local IBANs in your company’s name (GB, NL, LU)
  • Batch payments via Excel or ERP export
  • Xero integration for simplified accounting
  • Dedicated Relationship Manager with multilingual support
Pros ✅
  • Excellent support, including 24/7 phone and WhatsApp
  • Local IBANs in key jurisdictions
  • Strong support for complex company structures
Cons ❌
  • No cards or expense management tools
  • Transaction fees can add up, especially on lower tiers

3S Money Business Account Features

3S Money offers a multi-currency business account designed for international companies. You can hold over 65 currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, CNY, AED, and INR, and send payments to 190+ countries via SWIFT, SEPA, and Faster Payments (FPS). Each account includes local IBANs in your company’s name for quicker local transfers.

There are three plans: Standard, Enterprise, and Enterprise Plus. All plans share core features like multi-currency capability and local account details, but the higher tiers offer more in certain features, such as additional user access, greater savings on transaction fees, and API solutions.

You can make bulk and batch payments with the 3S Money multi-currency business account. Payment instructions can be created in Excel or exported from your accounting or ERP systems, then uploaded to your account. Additionally, you also get Xero integration for simplified accounting.

While 3S Money doesn’t offer cards or expense tools, its strength lies in international transfers, FX, and support for complex business structures, especially for companies based in or doing business with the UK, EU, and UAE. It also offers a dedicated DIFC plan with local AE IBANs and support for AED payments.

3S Money also provides a Global Payment Guide to help you understand how to send and receive money to different destinations. This tool shows supported currencies, estimated delivery times, and available transfer methods such as SWIFT and SEPA.

Our Verdict: 8/10

3S Money is a strong choice if your business is focused on sending and receiving international payments across multiple currencies, exclusively to bank accounts. You get access to local IBANs, support for over 65 currencies, and tools like batch payments and Xero integration, which are genuinely useful for managing global cash flow.

However, there’s no physical prepaid or debit card available, so if you also need to manage day-to-day spending or employee expenses, you’ll need a second solution.

3S Money Business Account Fees

3S Money charges a monthly fee to maintain a business account. All pricing details, including account management and payment fees, are detailed on their website. Below is an overview of the key fees across the three main plans:

Fee Category Standard Enterprise Enterprise Plus
Monthly fee €100 €300 Bespoke
Outgoing SEPA / Local / Domestic €2 + Area zone fee* (up to 1.00%) €1 + Area zone fee* (up to 0.75%) €1 + Area zone fee* (up to 0.50%)
Outgoing SWIFT / International €15 + Area zone fee* (up to 1.00%) €10 + Area zone fee* (up to 0.75%) €1 + Area zone fee* (up to 0.50%)
Incoming SWIFT / International €5 + Area zone fee* (up to 0.85%) Free + Area zone fee* (up to 0.65%) Free + Area zone fee* (up to 0.40%)
Account Opening Fee (during account onboarding) Starting from €100 Starting from €100 Starting from €100

“Area zone fees” are a percentage-based transaction charge depending on the country you are sending or receiving money to and from. The rate also depends on your plan and the size of the transaction.

For example, most EEA countries fall under Area 1 with no percentage charge, so you are likely to pay only the fixed fee. However, if you are on the Standard plan and sending money to Hong Kong (Area 3), for example, you will pay the fixed fee of €15 plus 0.40% of the transaction amount.

Another fee to consider is the Regular Payment Order or MT103 SWIFT confirmation charge, which is €60 if you need an official document showing the full details of a SWIFT payment sent from your account.

Apart from these charges, it’s worth mentioning that you are required to maintain a minimum balance equal to three times your monthly account fee (e.g. €300 if you’re on the Standard plan). 3S Money’s foreign exchange (FX) rate is calculated based on real-time market rates.

Our Verdict: 7/10

3S Money is not the most affordable option, but it’s priced for businesses that prioritise international payment infrastructure over low fees. For companies with regular international transactions and moderate to high volumes, the transaction costs can be worth it.

Overall, the monthly fee and payment charges reflect the value of multi-currency support, broad global coverage, and personalised support. Just keep in mind that features like MT103 confirmations come at an extra cost, and you’ll need to maintain a minimum balance.

3S Money sets a high standard for business account support. Every client is assigned a dedicated relationship manager, with assistance available via 24/7 phone support, WhatsApp chat, and a multilingual team across key financial hubs.

For internationally active businesses, this level of direct and responsive support offers a clear operational advantage.

Opening a 3S Money Business Account

3S Money supports a wide range of global businesses, including industries often overlooked by traditional banks. In this section, we’ll cover who’s eligible and how to apply.

Eligibility Criteria and What You’ll Need

Most businesses are eligible to apply for a 3S Money business account, except those registered in certain restricted countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan, Russia, and Venezuela. While industries like art, antiques, luxury goods, energy, and machinery are supported, 3S Money does have a list of prohibited sectors, including adult content and cryptocurrencies.

Here’s what you’ll need to complete the account application:

  • Proof of identity for each Ultimate Beneficial Owner (UBO), director, and authorised signatory, such as a valid passport or EU identity card.
  • Proof of address, such as a recent utility bill, bank statement, or tax document showing your name and address.
  • Company registry extract (issued within the last 6 months), or proof of good standing and company structure.
  • Shareholder register (in PDF format).
  • Additional business information, including where your company is incorporated and your expected transaction volume.

How to Apply

You can apply for a business account remotely through 3S Money’s website or mobile app. Once you are ready, visit their registration page to provide your information and submit the required documents.

The 3S Money team will get in touch with you to conduct compliance checks. If approved, you'll be introduced to a dedicated Relationship Manager who will guide you through setting up your account and opening the required local IBANs.

Our Verdict: 9/10

Opening a 3S Money business account is relatively straightforward, especially for international companies that meet the eligibility criteria. The fully remote application process, clear document requirements, and support from a dedicated Relationship Manager make onboarding smooth.

However, the due diligence process can be detailed, so businesses should be prepared for some back-and-forth during compliance checks.

3S Money Ratings and Reviews

  • Trustpilot: 4.5/5 (based on 836 reviews)
3S Money’s Trustpilot score of 4.5 out of 5 is  a positive signal, especially given how often users mention smooth onboarding and responsive support. That said, with under 1,000 reviews, I’d treat the sample as limited. It gives a good first impression, but not the full picture of long-term client experience.
